New group members are welcome throughout the year when places are available. Groups are FREE of charge (donations always welcome).
SUPPORT GROUPS: Tuesday 10.00-11.30 am. or Wednesday 6.30-8 pm.
Open to all women who are concerned about their drinking. Each week there will be the opportunity to share experiences and look at where you are in your life. There will also be some focused time to try out new ways of thinking and new skills e.g. assertiveness, self-esteem, confidence building, relaxation. The group aims to provide an informal, non-judgmental, confidential space where mutual support can flourish. A qualified and experienced female group worker facilitates the groups.

Women may develop a problem with, or become dependent on alcohol for a wide variety of complex reasons e.g. abuse, parents with alcohol problems, stress, peer pressure, lack of self-esteem. The group will provide an opportunity to explore in depth the issues that are, or have been, relevant to their relationship with or dependence on alcohol. There will be a focus on the creation of a confidential, safe environment to encourage the individual's potential for growth, healing and change. The group will be facilitated by an experienced female counsellor, and provides a chance for women to share their most personal and unique experiences.
